Service Technician

Reports To:
Service Manager
General Purpose of Position:
The Service Technician is responsible for providing service and support on clients' systems.
Essential Functions:
• Troubleshoot and diagnose technical problems and determine proper course of action
• Completes and submits field project documentation and time reports
• Complies with quality control standards
• Communicates service call status and follow up required to Service Manager
• Complies with Barrett’s standards of professionalism
• Maintains personal technical training on product functions and installation techniques
• Complies with state and OSHA laws, company policies and recommended procedures
• Maintains assigned vehicle maintenance and tool inventory
Skills and Abilities:
• Advanced knowledge of system configuration and set up
• Advanced knowledge of programming control systems
• Advanced knowledge of equipment used in system integrations
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
• Excellent people skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Working Conditions
• Residential and light commercial construction sites
• Client’s homes or businesses
Education and/or Training:
• Preferred minimum of (5) years experience in electronic system integration
• Required high school graduate
• Preferred college, technical school, or specialized courses in electronics and/or engineering or equivalent job experience
