System Designer
Reports To:
Technical Director
General Purpose of Position:
The System Designer is responsible for designing residential and light
commercial technology systems to provide all stakeholders with a clear understanding of the project deliverables.
Essential Functions:
• Generate client proposals and scope of work documents based on sales staff discovery
• Prepare system engineering documentation
• Complies with Barrett’s standards of professionalism
• Maintains personal technical training on product functions and installation techniques
• Complies with state and OSHA laws, company policies and recommended procedures

Skills and Abilities:
• AutoCAD, Visio, and Microsoft Office Suite fluency
• Ability to create, read and interpret technical drawings
• Basic construction knowledge
• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
• Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
• Ability to multitask

Education and/or Training:
• Required high school graduate
• Preferred college or specialized courses in electronics, engineering and/or construction or equivalent experience
