Production Technician

Reports To:
Technical Director
General Purpose of Position:
The Production Technician is responsible for building and wiring equipment racks along with handling other equipment prepping tasks for system integration projects prior to execution in the field.
Essential Functions:
• Executes the pre-deployment of system integration projects based on directives from Technical Director
• Communicates production progress and status to Technical Director, Project Managers, and System Programmers
• Perform basic setup of A/V devices, network gear and other equipment as needed
• Complies with Barrett’s standards of professionalism
• Complies with quality control standards
• Maintains personal technical training on product functions and installation techniques
• Complies with state and OSHA laws, company policies and recommended procedures
• Works with Warehouse Manager to maintain adequate parts inventory in Pre-Deployment facility
• Maintains assigned tool inventory in Pre-Deployment facility
Skills and Abilities:
• Intermediate knowledge of system configuration and set up
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines
• Working knowledge of equipment used in system integrations
• Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel
Working Conditions:
• Barrett’s Technology Solutions’ Corporate Office and Pre-Deployment Facility in Lombard, IL
• Residential and light commercial construction sites
• Client’s homes
Education and/or Training:
• Required high school graduate
• Preferred college, technical school, or specialized courses in electronics, engineering and/or construction or equivalent job experience
• Preferred CEDIA Certified Integrated System Technician (IST)
